STILL supports three social projects for children and young people in Hamburg

Donating for equal opportunities

Hamburg, December 8, 2020 - For several years now STILL has been supporting local projects which are committed to enabling children and young people in Hamburg to have an equal share in education, culture and social interaction. In 2020, STILL is supporting the Mittagskinder Foundation, the Hamburg Kultur Palast Foundation as well as the Wilhelmsburg Production School with a donation of 5,000 euros each. STILL Managing Director Thomas A. Fischer personally handed over the donations to the three institutions at STILL's Hamburg headquarters today.

Glad about the donation: Susann Grünwald, Chairwoman of the Board of the Mittagskinder Foundation (r.), symbolically accepted the cheque for 5,000 euros from Thomas A. Fischer, CSO of STILL GmbH (l.).

"Supporting children and young people in Hamburg is not only a matter dear to our hearts. It is an investment in the future of our city - and particularly important in these challenging times," declared Thomas A. Fischer when presenting the donation. This year again, STILL supports three local projects which work for equal opportunities, rights, integration and education for the generation of tomorrow - and for ensuring that as many children as possible receive a healthy meal every day.

Hamburg projects for equal opportunities and the future

The Mittagskinder Foundation provides not only a hot lunch for around 200 children in Hamburg, but also regular educational support and help with homework. In addition, numerous families are currently supported with shopping vouchers for food. The Hamburg Kultur Palast Foundation gives children access to music and dance projects and is currently implementing digital activities. The Wilhelmsburg School of Production is particularly committed to equal access to education. It trains and qualifies young people after graduating from school for the transition to the labour market and offers product-oriented training in five professional fields (metal, wood, catering, retail, hairdressing). STILL is an ideal partner in this project, particularly because the training is thematically linked to the company's own vocational training for construction mechanic. So both sides intend to intensify their cooperation next year in order to create even better opportunities for graduates to start their careers - e.g. at STILL. "The Wilhelmsburg Production School is a great example of how social support and fair participation in training opportunities can be achieved in the long term - locally, specifically and practically," praises Thomas A. Fischer.
