STILL Hamburg honoured again for workplace safety
STILL receives the ‘Smart Fox‘ Award once more
The highest possible standards of health and safety are firmly anchored in the corporate culture of long-standing Hamburg-based company STILL – and they are consistently practised across all departments, day in, day out. In addition, targeted internal campaigns continually raise staff awareness. The German Employers' Liability Insurance Association for the Wood and Metal Industries (BGHM) has recognised this commitment by honouring the 'Mum, Dad, look after yourselves' health and safety campaign with the coveted 'Smart Fox' Award. This is the third consecutive year that STILL in Hamburg has received this prestigious award for projects and initiatives that have made an exceptional contribution to safeguarding and improving health and safety within the company.
A safe return home to loved ones after a day's work is what all employees and their families want. And that’s what STILL wants, too. The 'Mum, Dad, look after yourselves' health and safety campaign was precisely aimed at this: promoting active compliance with health and safety measures, taking good care of oneself and others, and sharing responsibility for health and safety at STILL. The campaign included many eye-catching initiatives, from children’s and family photo shoots wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at the STILL Family & Friends Day, to emotive campaign visuals and a major drawing competition for children with the chance to win great prizes. It’s an effort that’s paying off – not only in terms of positive accident prevention results on site, but also in terms of external recognition. For the third consecutive year, the German Employers’ Liability Insurance Association for the Wood and Metal Industries (BGHM) has recognised STILL’s exemplary performance in occupational health and safety, awarding the campaign the ‘Smart Fox’ prize. “We are very proud of this award, and it motivates us to continue our commitment to the important issue of occupational safety at STILL,” says STILL plant manager Eric Hagenow.
The BGHM ‘Smart Fox’ Award
Every year, the German Employers' Liability Insurance Association for the Wood and Metal Industries (BGHM) presents awards to projects and initiatives that make a significant and continuous contribution to health and safety within companies, while strengthening a culture of prevention and shared responsibility. STILL has already received several awards in recent years, including for its safety representative scheme, its training facility for working at height, and its concept of workplace-specific self-training exercises (see STILL Hamburg: Four safety awards | STILL Germany). Last year, STILL was recognised for its ‘Professionals always work safely’ action day and its ‘Simon and Simone Safe’ communication campaign (see STILL Hamburg: Honoured for safety | STILL Germany).
