1. What does your job entail?
I am a service engineer based in the North East responsible for servicing and maintaining STILL equipment. I also install Fleet Manager at customer sites, ensuring our customers are all set up correctly and support them while they imbed our fleet management tool into their business.
2. How long you have worked at STILL?
I joined the STILL family 4 and a half years ago now!
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy the variety of the job. No two days are ever the same! You can get up in the morning see a list of jobs to work to but it can all change with one phone call from the service team! And I love the dynamics of that and meeting new people each day!
4. What was it like working during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic?
Our business was critical during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the food sector! It was like Christmas but with double the demand! But what really sticks out for me was that despite the pressure our customers were under – safety was their upmost priority and every customer site I attended had robust risk assessments in place to keep me safe.
5. What do you love most about working at STILL?
I love working with people across all industries, it is so interesting understanding customer’s operations and the different challenges they face. But what I love the most is breathing life back into a broken machine. There is nothing more satisfying!
6. What is your favourite STILL truck and why?
My favourite truck is definitely the STILL RX 20 E3. It is such a great looking truck, super reliable and with the easy control on-board computer, the operator gets all the information they need at a glance (it also looks pretty cool aswell!)
7. If you could have a superpower what would it be?
This may seem super cheesy, but my superpower would definitely be a laser that you could shoot out empathy - I think this would solve a lot of problems in the world!
8. Do you have any hidden talents?
I like to DJ in my spare time! Nowadays just my friends and family’s events, but once in front of 5,000 young farmers at their annual gathering in Blackpool!
9. Describe yourself in three words….
Approachable, Happy and Hardworking
10. And finally, how do you like to spend your time when not at work?
In my spare time I love to go mountain biking with my fiancée. I have also recently taken up a new sport – stand up paddle boarding, which is great fun – I would recommend anyone to try it!
