STILL Driver Training 2008

Staff trained in the STILL driver training mean more safety and lower costs.

Well trained staff means higher safety and lower costs. At STILL you will be trained by professionals helping you to make your work more efficient and to be in full control of your truck in every situation. The new driver training concept consists of three major elements.

- Safety – avoiding dangerous situations and accidents
- Economy and protection of the environment
- Information on body vibrations

The qualification of staff is legally prescribed. However, much more important is that staff is protected from dangerous situations and accidents if the warehouse trucks are handled properly. In addition, costs for repairs, downtimes and damage of the transported load and damage of buildings can be minimized.
During the STILL driver training the staff is trained to make conscious and responsible use of resources and our environment. By driving efficiently, energy can be saved without obstructing the processes in the company. This, for example includes anticipatory driving, adequate acceleration, reducing the speed, curve speed, avoiding empty travel and switching the truck off when it is not used. This corresponds to the new STILL "Blue-Q = IQ" philosophy.
Further the staff is informed on how to reduce the effect of body vibrations by adapting his way of driving on bumpy floors. In addition, body vibrations can be reduced by an optimum seat adjustment.

Beginners and experienced drivers can take part in the STILL training alike. A theoretical part imparting basic knowledge around the lift truck and a practical part ending with a test are the basic frame of our training for drivers of lift trucks. STILL deploys modern means of instruction such as video beamer, notebook, camera and models in all trainings. This enables us to use 3D animations and videos beside photographs to present technical know-how and practical examples in a comprehensive manner without neglecting the dialogue with the participants. To further consolidate the acquired knowledge an elaborate instructional film summarising all content in a brief overview was developed as well.

Of course all our trainings are held in accordance with the accident protection regulations BGV D 27 and BGG 925 for the operation of warehouse trucks. The repeated annual training is done according to BGV-A1.
