Training at STILL – versatile, competent and integrated
The transition from school to work brings with it considerable changes for the new trainees. This is why the young men and women, particularly in the first period of their training, are continually accompanied and provided with many opportunities.
The first day is used for getting to know each other, providing information on STILL and letting the new employees experience the "World of the forklift truck" as they come into close contact with it during a factory tour. Mutual understanding is then the focus of the "Team Seminar". The 3-day "Environmental Rally" is also part of the programme during the first year of learning. Along with comprehensive information on the subject of "the environment" and explanations of STILL's "environmental mission," the young trainees find out about the company, talk with the people responsible and work on suggestions for improvement which are then presented and put into practice.
A high point in the progress of the training is the 4-day "Forklift Truck Build Project." Here three "Trainee Company teams" show their entrepreneurial and constructive skills: they develop and produce a forklift truck.
This is then sold to a jury, who decide on the model in which
most "customer wishes" have been implemented.
